Road Trip!

Two posts in one day?! Wow, I'm on a role! Well yesterday Kelle, Therese and I took a road trip to Sedona. We did lots of cool things and talked to many nice Sedona folks. When we got there we ate at a little cafe and there were actually signs on the table that said no cellphones! Ya, right. We saw and walked through two different labyrinths and went to two different alien/UFO themed places. People really like aliens in Sedona apparently. We ate dinner at the Red Planet Diner which was awesome and very well themed! There were good laughs and good talks with good friends. I got to feel balanced and take in the Zen-like atmosphere of Sedona. It really was a good day.

Christmas!

Well, Christmas is over. It was wonderful though. A great time with friends and family. Laughs, hugs and of course egg nog! We were lucky to get to have three different Christmases. Josh and I had our own, we spent Christmas Eve with my parents and then all Christmas Day with Josh's family. I love giving and the joy it brings me to see someone open a gift that makes them smile. That is worth any amount of time, stress and money that may come along with shopping during the holidays. I got many gorgeous and wonderful gifts but one that was very exciting is my KitchenAid Mixer! We got one for my mom months ago when we started shopping for Christmas and without even thinking of it (though I've really wanted one) to my surprise I opened one as well! Now it is on to the New Year and new adventures. I hope you all had a great year and I can't wait to see you in the upcoming one!

A new blog look.

I was getting so bored with my old blog template. Therefore, a change was needed. Now all I need to do is remember to change it after Christmas is over. Well, one more week until Christmas break. I am so excited to have time off and to spend it with friends and family. I just cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. Maybe my next post will be a nice overview of this year. Sounds good. BTW, yesterday was one year down for Brian being gone on his mission. Holy cow! That went by fast. Also, Collin had his first school performance this week. He was so cute! Two kindergarten classes sang two song and rocked out with little cardboard guitars and sunglasses. Adorable.

A brief overview. Did I say brief? I meant long.

Things have been so busy lately and the worst part is that it's not over yet. We went to New York last week. It was great. It always makes me homesick. Just being able to see your aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents whenever you want is so nice. I feel that a lot of people take that for granted because they have always had them around. My cousin Michelle got married to a great guy and they looked so happy together. I love weddings. I will post pics later.

After a LONG flight home on Tuesday it was back to work on Wednesday, bright and early. We had a science camp meeting on Wed. night, and then play practice and a PTO meeting on Thurs. night. Friday happened and sucked and at least Saturday turned out to be relaxing.

So a while ago Kelle and I got forced into creating and running a skit group for the primary musical. After this week it will be over and then we won't have to think about it ever again. Ever. (Lol...ever. That's for you Kelle). We will be rehearsing at Stapley on Mon. and Tues. and then two performances on Wed. and Thurs. and one more for Highland on Friday. Oh, and don't forget that schedule includes teaching 28 students all day long. If I live through this week I deserve to go out and be pampered.

On a good note...I will be attending The Twilight movie on Thursday night. Midnight release. I know, crazy idea! With that full schedule I just spoke of, Kelle and I will run our kids through the performance at Stapley on Thursday night, go to see Twilight which starts at MIDNIGHT (incase I didn't mention that) and then wake up to teach on Friday and do the musical one more time. Yay. I am SO excited to see it though!!

Like I said, if I make it through this week please congratulate me. I need it.

P.S. Collin turned 5 on Wednesday. Gosh, where did the time go? He gets even more cute with each passing year! Party is coming up so I will take pics.

Thanks for listening! Love you all!

So loved. So appreciated.

Friday afternoon. A whole week with children who talk a bit too much all behind me now. Pull into the garage. Two single stem red roses on the washing machine. A smile emerges across my face. Thats how it started. I walked in the house to find a bubble bath being drawn for me with my book and two more red roses waiting on the side of the tub. As I soak, relax and read Josh is in the kitchen. He tells me I have about five more minutes and then dinner will be ready.

I eventually get out, put on comfy clothes(the best part of usual fridays) and go sit down in the living room. He brings to me, on a tray, our salads (first course) with my favorite dressing and even craisins on mine! Man, how I love craisins on my salads. We eat and then Josh takes them away to get the main course. Fresh salmon with asparagus and champagne. Two more red roses. Holy cow! Romantic! So we eat dinner and watch a movie and I am so relaxed, full and content when Josh says "Ready for dessert?" Three of my favorite words!

I am thinking we will have something like ice cream or cookies. I was wrong. My husband made (from scratch) TIRAMISU! Yes. He did it all. Coffee soaked lady fingers, the whipping of the egg yolks, whipped cream, marscarpone cheese and cocoa powder on top. it was served with, of course, two last red roses. (Or so I thought). I dont know if I have ever been more impressed. It was magical and it makes me feel so lucky to have found him. You may be sitting there thinking, "wow, im jealous". That's ok. Have your husband or boyfriend read this. Lastly, we were getting in bed and as I just lay down he pulls out two more roses from his dresser drawer and says, "that makes a dozen." Everything was so unexpected. A wonderful night with a wonderful man.

Sweetest dog in the world! Not to mention cute!

Harley is such a great dog. We could not ask for a better one!

Here's the Blog!

Well, I finally made one! Now, the only thing I need to do is make sure I actually post stuff. More than once a year would be good. Maybe that will be my goal. You know, start off small! Well, since summer started my days are filled with relaxing, seeing friends and family and taking care of Josh and Harley. I am really trying to cook more and keep the house nice and clean! Along with giving Josh tons of hugs and kisses. It is so nice to be able to focus on stuff at home. As soon as I start teaching again things are crazy and it feels like I am only at home to sleep. I am trying to enjoy this time while it lasts!
